What You Need to Know about Log House Builders

A log home is not a regular home, and it should not be treated like one during its construction. Ignorance or negligence on the part of the log house builders should not be tolerated, as improper workmanship can lead to problems down the road. Don’t be afraid to intervene if you feel that the workmanship from your log house builders is sub-par.

What you need to know about log house builders:

* Many contractors do not specialize in log homes. Though they may have built a few log homes in their time, they probably aren’t the “go to” guys when it comes to log homes. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, however, as that doesn’t mean that they are incapable of good work. It just means that you may have to pay a bit more attention to the construction of your log home.

* Not all log house builders are created equal. Ask for examples of previous work before you commit to the project. A reputable log house builder will gladly show you some (or all) of their previous work in order ease your fears. Ask around to find out which log house builders are reputable.
