* Keep your needs first. Many people get distracted by the styling and aesthetics of a log home. Dont. Keep your needs first- how many bedrooms, bathrooms, and entrances do you need? A log home is still a home, and you are going to have to live with it every day.
* There is something out there for you. There are hundreds of different log home designs, from the mundane to the insane, and its a fair bet that there is something out there that suits your needs and taste. If youre building, dont settle on something- this is your home, so fall in love with it!
* Suit your style. Just because a design calls for exposed interior walls doesnt mean you have to have it. If youve found a design that you love but want a few minor details changed, work with the builder to ensure that the changes that you want are done. Why pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for something that you arent satisfied with?
