Log Home Living in the 21st Century

Originally the homesteads of our forebears as they pushed into the west, log homes represent strength and durability, and a sense of the outdoors that went with log home living.

Today log home living is slightly different. People still want the strength and durability, but now the modern technology of our society is being incorporated into our log home living. High beamed ceilings meet silk rugs, and walls made from logs meet an Andy Warhol reprint. Yes, today's log home living can represent strength and durability, but now it also encompasses comfort and technology.

There's also a flip side to log home living. Some people are opting for the decor of a traditional log home, without the log home. Showing us that log home living can be enjoyed in an urban setting, rustic decorations are being used to furnish apartments and penthouses across North America.

Log home living may not be for everyone, but North American's are showing us it can be enjoyed in both the traditional sense and on the modern front. You don't have to live in the forest to feel like you are, with log home decor, and you don't have to rough it in the woods with new ultra modern log homes.
