Log Home Interiors: Sprucing Up Your Bedroom

The exterior of a log home really shows off the construction techniques and classic style that log homes are known for, and though that can be done quite well with well planned log home interiors, any homeowners are beginning to move away from the classic log style. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as drywall is easier to manipulate, decorate, and change than a log wall.

For your bedroom, the focus should always be on comfort and relaxation as opposed to the logs. Don’t worry about showing off your log home- if someone has made it to your bedroom, they’ve already seen it. Try one of the following:

* Set the mood. If you have drywall, try painting your room a more somber, relaxing color. If you have log walls, use atmospheric lighting to create a more sensual atmosphere.

* Go to the bar. A bedroom bar is a great way to completely revitalize your bedroom. A small mini-fridge, coffee maker, and perhaps even a vanity create a usable, unique space where you can have an early-morning snack or coffee without ever having to leave your room.

If you set the mood the evening before, this can be a great way to start the morning after.

* Candles are a bad idea, but a faux fireplace isn’t. An electric fireplace looks great, and gives off heat if you want it to. With the lights turned low and a glass of wine in hand, you won’t even notice that it’s not real.
