Where to Begin with Log Home Construction

In my research on the subject of log home construction, I’ve found that the common starting point is the selection of the type of wood to be used. Spruce, cedar, or pine, each wood has its own unique pros and cons. Once you’ve got your wood selected, the next step is to decide between a kit and a floor plan. Log home construction can be very complex, so log home kits are much more practical. However, the cost of a log home construction based on a floor plan can be very cost inhibitive as well.

Now you’ve decided on your wood, you have your kit or floor plan ready, it’s time to start the log home construction process. Now we come to choosing a builder. Log home construction can be costly but you don’t want a builder who is too cheap and leaves you with improperly sealed joints, or cracks and seams between the logs. Now you’re ready to begin your log home construction. Stay involved and seek the builder’s advice on anything that may crop up during the construction. Good luck, and enjoy you’re new home.
