Canadian Log Homes are Second Place?

You’d think that Canada would be the leader in the log building industry, considering that half of the population of Canada lives in a log home, or is that an igloo? All teasing of Canadians aside, why are American log homes considered better than Canadian log homes? Canada is a heavily forested country, and I would think it would be natural for them to use their largest natural resource more in home construction, and build more Canadian log homes.

Sadly this is not the case, and American log homes are more popular by a large margin versus Canadian log homes. It’s kind of strange that of the small percentage of log home building happening in Canada is done by American building companies. Does this make them American log homes, or are they still considered Canadian log homes because they are on Canadian soil?

A log home is a log home to me, whether it’s a Canadian log home or an American one, but I strongly urge you new log home builders in Canada to build more Canadian log homes.
